August 7, 2013. My youngest is 3 today. So many milestones have been reached recently: Diapers? Done. Tricycle? Pedaled! Playground ladder? Climbed independently! I continue to be amazed by him everyday.
I am also proud to see my little man enjoying stories and books. He loves humorous tales, relatable characters (very fond of animals as main characters), and unexpected endings. Take note, authors! (Self-included.) His taste in stories is what great stories are made of.
So, in honor of his birthday, here is a short list of his current favorites.
Excellent post. We know a few of these books, but I am excited to add the ones we haven't read yet. My son just turned three a few weeks ago and it is a pretty fun age so far.ReplyDelete
I loved Helen Oxenbury's work. Bear Hunt is one of our most favorite of all the favorite books.
We're Going On a Bear Hunt is so imaginative and thrilling for this age. And it is easy to remember so we incorporate it into our play whenever we want. Glad you liked the post!Delete
My comment failed the last time so I hope it works this time. I loved that age when my kids were three. It is such a special age. Their imaginations are very formed and precious to watch.ReplyDelete
I don't remember the books they liked but one stands out: Richard Scarry's trucks and cars. I'll check out these that you mention. :)
I should have included Richard Scarry in my son's favorites list. Although we seem to get Busytown mostly through video and games now. I got him the Busytown (cooperative) board game as a gift and both boys love it!Delete
